THE LONESOME DAYS
A five-piece, high-energy, modern bluegrass ensemble from Denver, Colorado, The Lonesome Days blend heartfelt songwriting and powerful vocals with precise instrumentation and undeniable groove, charging their way to the forefront of the Colorado bluegrass scene.

While songwriting is a major focus for the band, concert attendees can expect a unique repertoire of standard bluegrass and other cross-genre covers. Food trucks should be on site and park rules apply.

UB40 and BIG MOUNTAIN
UB40 are an English reggae and pop band, formed in December 1978 in Birmingham, England. The story of UB40, and how this group of young friends from Birmingham transcended their working-class origins to become the world’s most successful reggae band, selling over 100 million records and spending over a combined 11 years in the UK album charts, is not the stuff of fairytales as might be imagined. The group’s led a charmed life in many respects it’s true, but it’s been a long haul since the days they’d meet up in the bars and clubs around Moseley, and some of them had to scrape by on less than £8 a week unemployment benefit. The choice was simple if you’d left school early. You could either work in one of the local factories, like Robin Campbell did, or scuffle along aimlessly whilst waiting for something else to happen.

By the summer of 1978, something else did happen, and the nucleus of UB40 began rehearsing in a local basement. They have been nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album four times, and in 1984 were nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Group.

LAVENDER FESTIVAL
More than 2,000 lavender plants set the scene for this family-friendly celebration of Chatfield Farms’ Lavender Garden. 

Admission includes:

• Demonstrations in the dye garden and working blacksmith shop
• Ability to explore Chatfield Farms and curated gardens
• The opportunity to talk with Chatfield horticulturists and farmers located throughout the grounds

PEDAL THE MOON
Cyclists are encouraged to participate in the festive spirit by decking out their bikes with lights and other embellishments. At the intersection of East Plum Creek and Hangman’s Gulch trails, be sure to stop at the decorating station and get creative with glow-in-the-dark items, provided on a first-come, first-served basis. All participants must wear a helmet and have a front headlamp and blinking rear light.

Once you arrive at Festival Park grab your food, relax and enjoy the night sky. The International Dark-Sky Association will be sharing information about stars and constellations. After the festivities, families are encouraged to ride back to Douglas County or Castle View high schools. Interested in a one-way trip? Make arrangements to leave a car or be picked up at the park. Registration includes t-shirt, hot dog, chips and a drink.

PAUL CAUTHEN
Paul Cauthen first earned his reputation as a fire-breathing truth-teller with the acclaimed roots rock band Sons of Fathers, but it wasn’t until the 2016 release of his solo debut, My Gospel, that he truly tapped into the full depth of his prodigious talents. Vice Noisey dubbed it “a somber reminder of how lucky we are to be alive,” while Texas Monthly raved that Cauthen “sounds like the Highwaymen all rolled into one: he’s got Willie’s phrasing, Johnny’s haggard quiver, Kristofferson’s knack for storytelling, and Waylon’s baritone.” The album landed on a slew of Best Of lists at the year’s end and earned festival appearances from Austin City Limits and Pickathon to Stagecoach and Tumbleweed along with dates opening for Elle King, Margo Price, Midland, Cody Jinks, Social Distortion and more. He followed it up two years later with Have Mercy, an album that prompted Rolling Stone to dub him “one of the most fascinating, and eccentric, new voices in country music.”

LITTLE FEAT AND LEFTOVER SALMON
Little Feat is the classic example of a fusion of many styles and musical genres made into something utterly distinctive.  Their brilliant musicianship transcends boundaries, uniting California rock, funk, folk, jazz, country, rockabilly, and New Orleans swamp boogie into a rich gumbo, that has been leading people in joyful dance ever since. 

1973’s Dixie Chicken gave them the title track and “Fat Man in the Bathtub,” as good a blues as any rock band has ever written.  Their career to that point was summed up with the live Waiting for Columbus, truly one of the best live albums rock has ever heard. 

Fifty years on the road cost them Lowell George, then Richie Hayward and Paul Barrére, but the music has carried them forward.

Leftover Salmon is an American jam band from Boulder, Colorado, formed in 1989. The band’s music is a blend of bluegrass, rock, country, and Cajun/Zydeco. Over their thirty years as a band Salmon have released seven studio albums and three live albums.

VAMONOS PEST
Vamonos Pest is a 5-piece rock and roll band covering music from 1968 – 2021. Formed in 2019, Vamonos Pest plays live throughout the Denver metro area.  You’ll hear familiar music from the 60s (The Beatles, Joe Cocker), 70s (Bill Withers, Doobie Brothers) 80s (Billy Squire, The Police), 90s (Oasis, Train), 00s (Dirty Heads, Jack Johnson) and the 10s (Manchester Orchestra, Twenty-One Pilots). The band members span generations themselves including Millennials, Gen Xers, and Baby Boomers. Members of the band have been a part of the Denver music scene for over three decades.
