MUDVAYNE: THE PSYCHOTHERAPY SESSIONS
Heavy metal quartet Mudvayne formed in Peoria, IL, in 1996, its members adopting the unusual pseudonyms sPaG (M. McDonough/drums), Gurrg (G. Tribbett)/guitar), and Kud (Chad Gray) (vocals). The group’s original bassist was replaced after two years by Ryknow (Ryan Martinie). During their development, the bandmembers began the practice of applying bizarre makeup. After self-releasing their first album, Kill, I Oughta, they were signed by Epic Records and recorded their major-label debut, L.D. 50, which was released in August 2000 shortly after the end of their first national tour opening for Slipknot. The album later went gold and earned Mudvayne the first-ever MTV2 Video Award at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards.
As musicians, McDonough, Martinie and guitarist Greg Tribbett haven’t shifted their songwriting focus from what they’ve always tried to achieve. In the words of the bassist, “it’s an honest representation of who we are as people. We love getting high on music, whether it be crazy blast beats, European black metal, dance music, electronic music, or stuff we grew up with, like Van Halen, Rush, Iron Maiden and Metallica. The things that we like to hear are the things that come out when we write together, and when you put them together, it’s Mudvayne.”

SUMMER CONCERT: NIGHT RANGER
Night Ranger is an American hard rock band from San Francisco formed in 1979 that gained popularity during the 1980s with a series of albums and singles. The song ‘The Secret of My Success’ was a single released from the 1987 album ‘Big Life.’ It is one of Night Ranger’s most famous songs because it was also on the soundtrack of the film of the same name, which starred Michael J. Fox, who had specifically requested that Night Ranger wrote the song. A year after the single’s release, it was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song but lost out to the theme tune from ‘Dirty Dancing,’ ‘I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.’ Night Ranger’s second-most commercially successful single was ‘Sentimental Street,’ which peaked at number eight on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts.
Nestled in the beautiful setting of Philip S. Miller Park, the Amphitheater has become one of Colorado’s most sought-after live music venues. Each year, the featured acts get bigger and bigger. The Summer Concert Series has hosted dozens of Grammy-nominated, world-famous artists and has made Castle Rock a musical hotspot. These ticketed music events have truly become a signature part of summers in the community.

GOO GOO DOLLS
As life goes on for Goo Goo Dolls, the ensuing music connects even more closely, embracing experimentation, exhibiting assurance, and exuding experience. Drawing on over three decades together, the four-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated record-breaking multiplatinum rock band—John Rzeznik and Robby Takac—supply a real sense of hope and a whole lot of heart on their 12th full-length album, Miracle Pill.
“The process is more enjoyable than ever,” says John. “We work with whoever we want to, and we get to experiment. You never know if this may be the last time you’ll get to make a record. It’s a privilege, so you need to have fun. It’s a joy to sit down, try out ideas, and push the limits of the band.”
That’s exactly what the boys do on the first single and title track “Miracle Pill.” Backed by ragtime piano, handclaps, and dreamy production flourishes, John’s voice swings from theatrical verses into an intoxicatingly irresistible hook.
