The perfect way to welcome warm weather is with a bit of easy Easter décor, plus fun activities for the whole family. On this upcoming say-hello-to-spring Easter weekend, look at a handful of ideas to set the scene, and the dozen or so games and activities for both adults and kids. There’s something for everyone!
Decorate with Spring Flowers
Flowers are a beautiful and easy way to decorate for Easter. With tulips coming into bloom in March, Home Depot at 333 W. Allen Street in Castle Rock, has planters for $10.98 that have combination of hyacinths and tulips that should be exploding with color about now. And the Sprucery Garden Center at 4647 N. Highway 83 in Franktown, just 15 minutes from Crystal Valley has a selection of delicate phlox flowers in bloom, too.
Learn How to EMBELLISH Eggs
Martha Stewart will walk you through making an egg wreath, pounded wheat grass placemats, plus your own colorful foiled eggs. For foiled eggs, the step-by-step instructions (with video!) start with dying the eggs bright colors then brushing them with copper or gold leaf. You can foil the whole egg or just mottle the shells for variety.

Quick and Easy Easter Ideas
DIY Easter décor is easy with Better Homes and Gardens 32 ideas for celebrating one of the first spring holidays, including bunny patterns to cut out and egg stencils. And the Prudent Penny Pincher has 100 more ideas, from Easter bunny door décor and to table decorations and centerpieces – many of which use items from the dollar store. Easter Games for ALL
Probably best for adults only is the Easter Beer Hunt from Country Living, along with Easter Egg Truth or Dare and Easter Piñata, stuffed with grown-up goodies like lottery tickets, beauty samples, mini-liquor bottles (the plastic kind), and Easter candy!
Better Homes and Gardens offers up a few more sedentary games for all ages in the form of free printable game cards and pieces, like Easter Tic-Tac-Toe and Easter Bingo.
Funny Family Shenanigans
The family behind the PlayTivities channel on YouTube created an entire video to demonstrate their favorite Easter games. While some of them seemed to be a stretch for the holiday (e.g., the Cheetos Toss onto whipped-creamed Easter bonnets), the video is fun to watch. Plus, who doesn’t love a good egg roll in the grass (with your nose!) and pin the rabbit tail on daddy?

And if you’re up REALLY early on Easter morning, come out to the Easter “Son” Rise Service at the Amphitheater at Philip S. Miller Park in Castle Rock. Several local churches throughout Castle Rock will be participating in a time of worship. The service starts at 6:30 a.m. with coffee and doughnuts provided by local business.
