A RAISIN IN THE SUN
This classic masterpiece by Lorraine Hansberry remains as relevant today as it was when it was first produced in 1959, when the Civil Rights movement was first piercing the country’s collective conscience.

The play is set in a small tenement on Chicago’s South Side, where a family awaits a check that will make all their dreams come true. Mama wants a nice house, Beneatha wants to go to medical school, and Walter Lee schemes to buy a liquor store. With the current gentrification of American cities happening, Raisin is as powerful, thought-provoking, and timely as it was in 1959.

SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE – ON STAGE
Drawing on all of the Bard’s favorite dramatic devices such as cross-dressing, mistaken identities, and sword-fighting, this “play within a play” supposes what might have been the inspiration for Shakespeare’s greatest play—Romeo and Juliet. 

Young Will Shakespeare is struggling to find his inspiration when a young lady, Viola de Lesseps, shows up in his company dressed as a boy so she can pursue her dreams of becoming an actor. This play with music was adapted for the stage from the 1998 film by Tony and Olivier Award-winning writer Lee Hall. Don’t miss this fanciful romantic comedy—Renaissance England style!

In celebration of musical genius Leonard Bernstein’s 100th birthday, the Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra will perform some of his most beloved works as well as that of another musical genius—Beethoven!
