AMAHL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS
Back in the Golden Age of American television, composer Gian Carlo Menotti was commissioned to write a one-act Christmas opera which aired on NBC in 1950. The poetic and beautiful Amahl and the Night Visitors tells the story of a poor shepherd boy’s encounter with the Three Wise Men on their journey and how his crippled leg is miraculously healed when he offers his crutch as a gift.

This enchanting stage version of the inspiring story is performed by the Chamber Orchestra of Colorado Springs and the Colorado Springs Conservatory. The opera is sung in English, so it’s perfect for the entire family! Make Amahl a part of your family’s Christmas traditions!
