Big To Dos Near Crystal Valley This Weekend

To do, or not to do? You might be asking yourself that question a lot over the next few days. This weekend is jam-packed with things to do, from Love is in the Air movie screenings at local libraries to ballets, high school musicals and glow in the dark yoga! With so much to enjoy in and around Castle Rock this weekend, you won’t have to wander far to have a good time!

To DoRUSSIAN NATIONAL BALLET
Considered the crown jewel of legendary choreographer Marius Petipa’s career,The Sleeping Beautyis the magical fairy tale of the beautiful sleeping princess who awaits the kiss of her prince. Brought to life by one of Moscow’s finest ballet companies, this enchanting tale is set to Tchaikovsky’s amazing score.

EAT, PRAY, LOVE
Love is in the Air this month at libraries throughout Douglas County! This screening of the 2010 romantic comedy-drama Eat, Pray, Love starring Julia Roberts is one of several special events for February. Based on Elizabeth Gilbert’s best-selling memoir about her divorce and subsequent travel adventures to “find herself.”

The 28th annual fundraiser for Praying Hands Ranches, its Sweetheart Spaghetti Dinner will feature dancing with music by Doctor Jerry Galloway, silent auction and kids’ corner. Praying Hands Ranches is a non-denominational non-profit providing a therapeutic ranch environment for special needs children and adults.

ADULT GLOW IN THE DARK YOGA
Wear your favorite neon yoga clothes and come move to the mellow, rhythmic music under the black lights. TUNJI AND THE GIANT
Based on the African folktale, this storytelling program is an introduction to classical music and instruments of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Designed to present performances in a relaxed, sensory-friendly way, performers modify shows to ensure there are no startling noises or visually over-stimulating components. The sound levels are lower than normal and the lights in the audience higher than normal, ensuring audience members can see each other. Audience members are free to come and go if need be and there is always a “safe room” available.

GOLDEN OLDIE: DESK SET
The last Love is in the Air event this week is an oldie but a goodie: Desk Set. The 1957 romantic comedy starring Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn (the pair had a 25-year love affair and made nine movies together) is rated PG. Don’t miss the computer in the film – it’s bigger than a mobile home and Kate’s biggest rival.
