CONSERVATION CORPS
Rebecca Schwendler, Ph.D., from Paleo West Archaeology, will discuss the old Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Camp located in Castle Rock more than 75 years ago. The CCC was a public work relief program that operated from 1933 to 1942 in the U.S. for unemployed, unmarried men from relief families as part of the New Deal.

ENCHANTED APRIL
This delightful romantic comedy, based on the beloved novel, has been performed in more than 500 productions worldwide. In post-WWI society, two unhappy London housewives rent a villa in Italy for a ladies-only holiday away. They reluctantly recruit a pair of difficult, upper-class women to share the cost and the experience. The four females clash — and then begin to bond and bloom — until men once again upset the balance.

STARS OF TOMORROW
Auditions for the Stars of Tomorrow, the premier talent contest for school-aged kids who reside in Douglas County, happens this weekend. Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Castle Rock, the talent competition is open to all Douglas County K-12 students, with final competition performances slated for March 17. Applications can be downloaded here for students who can play an instrument, act out skits, sing or dance.
