The New Year brings a bunch of new shows to the Castle Rock that the entire family can enjoy! From Family Magic Night to the poignant drama The Outsiders to the high-energy Matilda the Musical, you can catch a great show live on stage this weekend! Youngsters will delight in a morning of superhero fun, while older kids may want to sign up for a FREE flying experience!

WELLNESS WALK
Start out the New Year with a healthy dose of the great outdoors! This FREE backcountry hike is just moments from home, but you’ll feel like you’re really away from it all! Walk the dirt roads in the reserved part of the Backcountry Wilderness Area on a relaxed, guided excursion.
Bring along some binoculars for some wildlife spotting! The event is free, but registration is required.

QUIRKY COMEDIAN JAKE JOHANNSEN
Jake Johannsen has a bizarre take on life and shares it in his stand-up comedy routine. Filled with weird stories and his uniquely intelligent style, Johannsen is the comedian of choice for people who don’t typically love stand-up comedy.
With dozens of appearances on late-night television, including the most appearances of any comic on Letterman, chances are good you may have caught one of his eye-opening routines. Johannsen has also starred in his own HBO comedy special, This’ll Take About An Hour, which received incredible reviews, strong ratings, and a Cable Ace Award nomination for Best Writing in an Entertainment Special. People Magazine rated the special as one of the “ten best television shows of the year.”

THE OUTSIDERS ON STAGE
The popular YA book and movie by Francis Ford Coppola about an endearing gang of teenagers comes to the Parker stage with two different casts of young local actors! Alternating casts from Castle Pines and Motsenbocker/Lincoln Meadows will perform throughout the weekend.
The Greasers are a tough gang of outsiders who are perpetually at odds with the rich Socials. When Greasers Ponyboy and Johnny get into a brawl that ends with the death of a Social member, they are force to go into hiding. The story culminates in the Greasers needing to deal with the consequences of their violent lives. While some Greasers try to achieve redemption, others meet tragic ends.

SUPERHEROES UNITE!
Your little superhero will love this opportunity to dress up and get some real superhero training! RECORD PLAYER NOSTALGIA CONCERT

A CONCERT ABOUT THE BLACK WEST
This compelling concert is a narrative musical tale based on historical facts which follows the life of Blue, a runaway slave who escaped to the Wild West to become one of America’s first Black Cowboys.
