This weekend and next, in and around Castle Rock, you can celebrate the spookiness of the season,  with the Fantastic Festival in Festival Park, dress up in your favorite costumes, play games and compete for prizes, at the Spooktacular at the Philip S. Miller Park 10 minutes from your front door, attend the traditional interactive Rocky Horror Picture Show, or hang out with Vamonos Pest at the Castle — all near the master-planned community of Crystal Valley!

MOMS UNHINGED
Moms Unhinged Comedy Works premiere! Join other moms for a night of laughter as comedians explore everything from motherhood, midlife crisis, marriage, divorce, online dating, and other things that irritate. Men are welcome to the show, too. Moms Unhinged has been selling out shows all over the country and is coming to Comedy Works for a special performance.

The Moms do clean (ish) comedy and this is a fun night out with your girlfriends, drinking club (they mean book club), neighborhood group or your own mom.

FANGTASTIC FESTIVAL
The Friday before Halloween the Downtown Merchants Association hosts a Booth-to-Booth Trick-or-Treat event for families and care givers with home schooled kids or children not yet in school. Halloween music, vendor booths, face painters and balloon artists, and of course candy, this event is always one of the cutest in town. With Food Trucks Willy’s Wieners; Rory’s Blue Collar Catering and Glacier Ice Cream, don’t miss this Fangtastic Festival!

Prepare for an evening steeped in tradition as Cherokee Castle opens its doors for a whiskey tasting event that celebrates the spirit of Ireland. Adam Friedland is a comedian and the host of The Adam Friedland Show, known for his sharp wit and irreverent humor. Formerly he served as a co-host of a popular  podcast along with fellow comedians Nick Mullen and Stavros Halkias. Adam has built a loyal following with his deadpan delivery and unique take on pop culture, current events, and social commentary. His comedy often explores controversial topics, pushing boundaries while maintaining a playful edge.

FINAL WEEKEND: CORN MAZE!
Mountain lions and moose and bears, oh my! This year’s maze features a Colorado wildlife theme, fun twists and tricky turns. The maze can be viewed from a 15-foot-tall bridge, AND, visitors under the age of 10 can explore the corn mini-maze.

  • Corn Maze is one trip through a 7-acre maze that takes approximately an hour to complete full of twists, turns and dead ends.
  • Mini-Maze is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until 5 p.m. for children 10 and younger.
  • Barrel train rides included with the purchase of a child Corn Maze ticket.

BOO AT THE ZOO
This beloved trick-or-treating experience is back and better than ever! This timed, ticketed event is designed to minimize crowds and maximize fun. NUNSENSE
Nunsense is habit-forming! This riotous show is a fundraiser put on by the Little Sisters of Hoboken to raise money to bury sisters accidently poisoned by the convent cook, Sister Julia (Child of God). Updated with new jokes, additional lyrics, two new arrangements, and a brand new song, this madcap musical was recorded for television starring Rue McClanahan as the Mother Superior.

PETRIFIED FOREST HIKE
Hidden in our rugged backcountry lies Colorado’s largest Petrified Forest. After years of exploration and study, we are ready to share this unique natural wonder with you. Join our geology guides to see these ancient trees up close, examine the fossilized wood and learn about the fascinating process of petrification and our theories about the ancient river that deposited these trees here.

It’s an adventure made especially for those with a thirst for geology and fossils, but you needn’t be a paleontologist to sign up. There is something for everyone and anyone 12 or older is welcome. The hike is short (2.5 hours), but rugged, so come prepared with sturdy shoes and plenty of water. Call about the wait list (303) 688-5555.

SPOOKTACULAR
It’s Halloween and time for fall fun with the entire family. Join us to celebrate all things not-so-spooky at Spooktacular. Family-friendly costumes are encouraged, but not required. ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW
In this cult classic story, sweethearts Brad and Janet happen upon an eerie castle after their car breaks down during a rainstorm. The castle is home to the diabolical mad scientist, Dr. Frank-N-Furter, and his gang of henchmen. Once inside, Brad and Janet are swept in a whirlwind of dancing, rock ‘n roll, sex, and the creation of life itself. Rocky Horror Picture Show traditions like throwing rice and toast and blowing bubbles during the viewing will not be allowed.  A NIGHT IN MEMPHIS
Enjoy an evening of southern culinary classics and specialty cocktails, all while listening to the best blues band in Denver, The Delta Sonics. Guests will be immersed in the culture of the city that helped put blues and rock on the map in the United States. Tickets to this event are not eligible for the subscriber package discount.

Proceeds from this gala will directly benefit SPARK! for individuals with memory loss and their caregivers and more. ZIKR DANCE ENSEMBLE
Zikr Dance Ensemble’s 2024 Fall Season is entitled “Secrets,” featuring the world premiere of David Taylor’s “Liturgies” and a newly expanded version of the stunning “Ripples In The Sand.” Set to the electrifying Dune film score by Hans Zimmer, “Ripples” will feature new costumes and choreography and a breathtaking fabric canopy covering the entire stage. Also highlighted will be a reprise of the audience favorite “Mobile,” the iconic miniature masterpiece by former Ballet West and San Francisco Ballet choreographer Tomm Ruud. Rounding out this mesmerizing evening of contemporary multi-media dance will be Taylor’s “Altar,” and “Cham Mandala,” a journey into the mysterious world of hidden Tibetan ritual.

DOM SCOTT ALBUM RELEASE SHOW

HAYRIDE LAND TOUR
Learn about the cattle ranch and the surrounding landscape as you enjoy a beautiful fall hayride from the ranch headquarters near Sedalia to Cherokee Castle. You will see the Santa Gertrudis cattle up close and personal, learn about the geology, archaeology and ranch history as you travel on the historic Rattlesnake Road to the Cherokee Castle. PIE BAKE-OFF
It’s that festive time of year when families gather around to enjoy good company, hearty food, and most importantly, pie! Do you have what it takes to rise to the occasion? Don’t be afraid to take whisks in the Town’s pie-baking competition. The pie bake-off is open to all bakers. There will be two categories for judging: fruit and nonfruit pies, as well as a youth category. Pies will be assessed based on appearance, crust, filling, and overall flavor and taste. Don’t have baking skills? No worries! Come to the competition free of charge and try the pies by the slice.

SCIENCE NIGHT IN THE AFTERNOON
Unleash your curiosity and explore the world of science, technology, and engineering through hands-on activities and exhibits. Enjoy experiential learning with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Cave of the Winds, Phoenix Gold Mine, Playground Ensemble, Wings Over the Rockies, and more! Each classroom and booth will feature interactive, science-related activities.

Parker Science Night is a free family event open to the entire community. While designed for all ages, it is especially geared towards elementary-aged children and their families.
