The weekend you’ve been waiting for all summer is finally here—the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo! Bring the family to a multitude of exciting events at the fairgrounds, including rodeos, live entertainment, a carnival for the kids, and much, much more! There’s something for everyone at the fair! Other outdoor concerts are also in full-swing all around the Castle Rock area, along with outdoor movies and theatre performances, so get out there and enjoy summer at its peak!

LANDSCAPE MAKEOVER CONTEST!
If you’re tired of pampering your lawn more than you pamper yourself, maybe you’re in need of a water-wise lawn makeover! Castle Rock Water is giving away an $8,000 front yard landscape makeover this summer! If you want to include less turf and more water-wise plants into your landscape, enter this contest!
The winner will receive a personalized ColoradoScape—a team of experts will transform your water-thirsty yard into a vibrant, colorful and seasonal landscape that is more conducive to our Castle Rock environment. To enter, post a 15- to 30-second video about “why your yard sucks” on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, using the tag @CRgov.

DOUGLAS COUNTY FAIR AND RODEO
There’s something for everyone at the action-packed Douglas County Fair and Rodeo, with events happening every day through Sunday! Grounds Admission prices vary by day (with Thursday and Sunday FREE), and include activities, entertainment, Vintage Marketplace and Discovery Ranch, unless indicated as a Ticketed Event. For children ages 7 and under, Grounds Admission is free every day!
The kids won’t want to miss the carnival, mutton-busting, and Discovery Ranch where they can become a farmer for a day! There’s even a cricket-race (with real live crickets) and a goat-costume contest! Events for adults include a blind-tractor driving contest and plenty of musical entertainment, with several acts scheduled each day. And the highlight for all ages is the pie-eating contest! Bring a blanket and your family and friends! Nothing is more fun than an outdoor movie! For the month of August, Highlands Ranch will be screening a different movie every week in beautiful Civic Green Park.

These middle-aged, out-of-shape men respond to their dreary circumstances with a whole lot of heart and so much optimism that you’ll be rooting for them the whole time!
This hilarious production has adult themes with strong language and situations that might be found in an R-rated film.

OAKED AND SMOKED – AMERICAN WHISKEY AND BBQ!
Treat yourself to an epic afternoon of whiskey sampling, barbecue and bluegrass! PRO RODEO HONORING HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES!
The Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame newly-inducted members will be special guests of this no-holds-barred professional rodeo at the Douglas County Fair! This ticketed event features contestants from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association who will be bareback riding, steer wrestling, saddle-bronc riding, tie-down roping, team roping and bull riding! The rodeo will also host barrel racers from the Women’s Pro Rodeo Association.
