WINGS: SPRING BREAK ART CLASS
For artists aged 6 to 12, let your imagination run wild as you learn how to create a pair of mythical wings. These can be for a dragon, fairy or even butterfly wings. Using alcohol inks to create an underpainting for the wings, students will have fun exploring how to move and manipulate the inks to create a colorful and “mythical” painting. Students will then design a stencil of their wings that they will use to draw and then paint upon as part of the alcohol ink underpainting. Your finished project will be a stunning pair of storybook wings!

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC LIVE
Paraclimber Maureen Beck learned how to rock climb one-handed through trial and error— one of her early adaptive climbing innovations involved taping a metal ladle to her arm. It wasn’t long before she was tackling some of the hardest climbs by a one-handed athlete, securing two world championships in the process. In her constant pursuit of new challenges, she journeyed to Canada’s Cirque of the Unclimbables to attempt the first unassisted adaptive climb of the Lotus Flower Tower.
