Toy Story and the Daddy-Daughter Ball!

It’s Lone Tree’s Silver Anniversary, and they’re throwing a party! Bring the family and enjoy a screening of the number one movie from 25 years ago—Toy Story! There’s also plenty of dancing going around this weekend—the popular Daddy-Daughter Ball and elsewhere, performances to watch, from the Peter and the Wolf Ballet to Cleo Parker Robinson’s tribute to African-Americans in Paris!

BIOGRAPHIES OF GREATNESS
This soulful presentation of the lives of luminaries such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Muhammad Ali, and Malala Yousafzai is an inspiring tribute. Shaun Boothe is a talented recording artist and TEDx motivational speaker who has put together a program that he delivers through hip hop, rhyme, and spoken word.

Not to be missed, Boothe’s Biography Series is a celebration of greatness that does so much more than just inform and entertain—it will awaken the greatness in you.

PETER AND THE WOLF BALLET
A delightful and accessible introduction to ballet and classical music that’s perfect for children, families, and arts-lovers of all ages! Ballet Ariel performs the classic ballet to Prokofiev’s beloved score. Will Peter be able to capture the Wolf with the help of his friend, the Bird? Watch as the story unfolds! There will also be dances from the third act of Swan Lake!

HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR!

STUFFED ANIMAL SLEEPOVER
Your kids will learn how truly wonderful libraries are when they get to bring their favorite stuffed animal for a sleepover! HEARTWARMING COMEDY
Performing to sold-out crowds at comedy clubs across the the country, Drew Lynch first captured America’s hearts with his Golden Buzzer performance on Season 10 of America’s Got Talent. MUSH DAY!
Treat the family to an outdoor adventure they won’t forget! This all-day trip starts in Castle Rock, where you’ll be driven to Breckenridge for a spectacular dog-sledding trip through six miles of stunning backcountry scenery.

VALENTINE’S DAY 5K/10K
Love ‘em or leave ‘em on this Valentine’s Day Run! This is the signature run/walk for the town of Parker’s Parks and Recreation Run Series. You’ll get a fun workout, some quality time with family and friends, and even a delicious post-race pancake breakfast and a chance to win prizes.

The professionally-timed race will award the overall male/female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in each of the following divisions of the 5K and 10K: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+. The FREE Kids’ Dash for children 8 and under follows the race!

LONE TREE’S SILVER ANNIVERSARY
The city of Lone Tree is turning 25, and everyone is invited to a FREE family-friendly celebration! Included in the afternoon’s events is a screening of the #1 movie from 25 years ago—Toy Story! SATURDAY NIGHT’S ALRIGHT FOR SKATING!

RHAPSODY IN BLACK
Cleo Parker Robinson Dance performs a program featuring the fascinating cross-cultural influence of African American artists in Paris in the early 20th century. Literature, music, and dance will be explored, from Josephine Baker to James Baldwin. 

Rhapsody in Black looks at complex relationships and heartbreak, as well as the joy of discovery through art. This program is specifically designed for children and families to experience arts and culture outside of the classroom.
