Energetic and accessible, acclaimed stand-up John Heffron shares an array of relatable experiences from childhood through life as a father. Medium Tyler Henry, star of the NETFLIX series Life After Death with Tyler Henry, continues to be the most sought-after clairvoyant medium both in the United States and around the world. This “en plein air” program allows small groups of visual artists special access to varied locations on the property. Artists pre-register for each date and meet in the parking lot. Everyone carries in and carries out their supplies, to enjoy the day from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Artists may use the garage restroom (near the Castle) and past participants call these inspiring days for capturing images of the vistas, land, wildlife, and structures. TUNES FOR TRAILS: THAT EIGHTIES BAND
Celebrate the summer season, and participate in a good cause with the Tunes for Trails free concert series. This Thursday night it’s That Eighties Band, one of the most popular 80s tribute bands in America. The group has performed over 1,800 concerts across the United States. Past clients include Google, Disney and many more. They have been featured in numerous magazines, radio programs, and TV shows, including HGTV’s H0USE HUNTERS. TIM MEADOWS
Tim Meadows is an actor, writer comedian who was one of the longest-running cast members on Saturday Night Live, where he appeared for ten seasons. Tim played “John Glascot” on the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs throughout its ten seasons and starred as the same character in Schooled for its two-season run. Meadows also played the school principal in the hit comedy Mean Girls and co-starred with Adam Sandler and Chris Rock in the blockbuster comedies Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2.
Additionally, Tim costarred with Andy Samberg in Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping for Universal Pictures and co-starred with John C Reilly in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story for Sony Pictures. He was seen multiple times in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Office, Miracle Workers, and the lead in CBS/Paramount’s No Activity. PEDAL THE MOON
As dusk begins, this family ride will follow East Plum Creek Trail to Festival Park — approximately 6 miles on mostly flat terrain that is suitable for riders of all ages. Cyclists are encouraged to participate in the festive spirit by decking out their bikes with lights and other embellishments. At the intersection of East Plum Creek and Hangman’s Gulch trails, be sure to stop at the decorating station and get creative with glow-in-the-dark items, provided on a first-come, first-served basis. GUIDED SUNSET HIKE
Envision the sun setting behind the mountains, the heavens ablaze with golds and oranges, transitioning to pinks and purples as dusk descends on Cherokee Mountain. Soon after, the full moon ascends over Raccoon Knob, while guides relay stories of yore and the sounds of wildlife begin. Come along for a trek up Cherokee Mountain to witness the sunset and the moonrise – a truly exception experience minutes from Crystal Valley and Castle Rock.
This is considered a moderate hike—participants should be physically fit and over 10 years in age. The hike will begin in the upper parking lot and last about 45 minutes each way. Hikers will arrive atop Cherokee Mountain a bit before sunset and return after dark. Long pants and good hiking shoes, plus a liter bottle of water are recommended, as well as a walking stick and a headlamp for night hiking.
